- 1Preheat your oven or air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- 2Cut the potato into thin fries and soak them in an ice bath for at least 30 minutes. Pat dry thoroughly.
- 3Toss the fries with a light spray of olive oil, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder. Arrange in a single layer on a baking sheet or in an air fryer basket. Bake or air fry for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
- 4Season the lean ground beef with salt and pepper. Form into a patty and cook in a skillet over medium heat for 4-5 minutes per side, or until fully cooked.
- 5Toast the burger bun in the skillet or oven for 1-2 minutes, if desired.
- 6Layer the burger patty on the bottom bun. Add cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onion (if using).
- 7To make the sauce, combine the finely chopped pickle, ketchup, mustard, and light mayo in a small bowl. Spread the sauce on the top bun.
